What Is Cancer Insurance?
Choosing the right Medicare program when you have Cancer is very important. The good news about this: you are eligible for Medicare when you have cancer. The down side of this: choosing the right Medicare plan can be very challenging. Because of higher costs of the plan, it is very important to understand which plans cover care and treatment.

Getting Coverage For Cancer:
Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with cancer? If so, you may be concerned which Medicare plans will cover cancer treatments, service, prescription drugs, or supplies.

Breast prostheses (these are external breast prostheses which includes a post-surgical bra) after a mastectomy if the surgery takes place in an outpatient setting

Certain diagnostic tests such as X-rays and CT scans

Certain preventative and screening services

Certain costs of clinical research studies while you are not in the hospital

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) - These are things such as Walkers, wheelchairs, etc.

Doctor's visits

Feeding pump (also known as enteral nutrition equipment) as DME that your doctor prescribes for home use as well as certain nutrients if you are unable to take food by mouth

Mental Health Services that are typically provided outside of a hospital (such as a clinic, a doctors office, or a therapists office.) It also covers services that are provided in a hospitals outpatient department.

Multiple chemotherapy drugs that are given through your vein while in an outpatient clinic or your doctors office

Nutritional counseling if necessary if you have diabetes or a kidney disease
